Following a meteoric rise over the past couple of years, 2025 will see Barry Can’t Swim cement his place at the upper echelons of dance music with the release of his sophomore album Loner. The album title sums up the philosophy with which Barry went into the album-making process. Despite his gregarious presence on and off the stage, Barry himself has always been an incredibly thoughtful and introverted person. It’s only now, after the last several years of pushing himself, that he’s been able to embrace this side of his personality and present it to the world. Anticipation could not be higher for this album, Barry is not only the biggest breakthrough artist in electronic music over the past two years, he’s one of the most in-demand artists across all genres on the planet right now. Throughout 2024, Barry has been playing to record breaking audiences, selling hundreds of thousands of tickets and picking up media acclaim across continents. In support of the album release, Barry will be playing his biggest ever shows in North America and Europe and headlining festivals in the UK and Australia. All of his singles to date have yielded incredible support across radio and press, not to mention clocking up millions of streams. He has been named number three in the BBC Sound of 2025 list as well as one of Spotify's Artists To Watch 2025. Previous album When Will We Land? was nominated for the Mercury Prize 2024 and named as an album of the year by Billboard as well as many others.

Legendary artist, Raincoats co-founder, songwriter, filmmaker, and feminist icon Gina Birch has announced her eagerly awaited second solo album, Trouble, arriving via Third Man Records on Friday, July 11. Pre-orders are available now. Trouble is heralded by today’s premiere of the album’s blistering centerpiece, “Causing Trouble Again,” available for streaming now. An official music video – directed by famed photographer/filmmaker Dean Chalkley and featuring an all-star collective of fellow female artists including Birch’s longtime friend and co-founder of The Raincoats, Ana da Silva, Neo Naturists co-founder Christine Binnie, singer-songwriter Amy Rigby, X-Ray Spex and Essential Logic co-founder Lora Logic, painter Daisy Parris, artist Georgina Starr, writer Jill Westwood, multi-disciplinary artist and activist Bobby Baker, award-winning costume designer Annie Symons, veteran photographer and Raincoats collaborator Shirley O’Loughlin, and many more – is streaming now on YouTube. “For the ‘Causing Trouble Again’ video, after hearing Bob Dylan sing about a white ladder all covered with water, I became obsessed with white ladders,” Gina Birch says. “ I decided to use five white ladders, three with seven rungs…I realized later that this references Jacob’s Ladder and a connection from Earth to heaven, but I think I was thinking of ladders as a symbol of getting on, getting up. I wanted to have a choreographed movement with four of us with these ladders. How do we move with ladders? Do we move together, do we fight, do we dance? “I also wanted to reference the wind scene from the film, The Colour of Pomegranates, and to include as many artist women from the Women in Revolt exhibition as I could. I wanted them to be troublesome, or just to shout ‘Causing trouble!’ I ended up inviting all the artist musician women I knew who could make the shoot, and it was a fantastic meeting of great women, many of whom had never met each other before.” “Causing Trouble Again” was inspired by 2024’s Women in Revolt, an exhibition of feminist art and activism at Tate Britain which included one of Birch’s most recognized art pieces, 1977’s 3 Minute Scream, a landmark short film in which she stares down the camera and, as the title suggests, screams for the duration of a Super 8 cartridge. Birch created the epic six-minute track by inviting several female artists, including experimental music pioneer Cosey Fanni Tutti and writer/painter Caroline Coon, to record themselves saying the names of women who have inspired them – women who have indeed “caused trouble.”

It was winter in Manhattan. The streets were frozen and still the band rode bicycles to the Power Station on 53rd and back to Brooklyn for three weeks. Three weeks that would mark the birth of Double Infinity - the album that constitutes a grand departure for Big Thief. An ultramodern community of musicians gathered in the warm wooden room where Bruce once stood. They all tracked together – simultaneously – improvising arrangements and making collective discoveries.

Laraaji created drones with zither and an iPad and sang intuitive vocal melodies. Joshua Crumbly played bass; Mikey Buishas made live tape loops and played keys; Mikel Patrick Avery, Jon Nellen, and Caleb Michel played percussion; Adam Brisbin played guitar; and Hannah Cohen, Alena Spanger and June McDoom sang background vocals. Along with core members Adrianne, Buck, and James, the group played for nine hours a day. Double Infinity is the archive of this play. It could only have been produced, engineered, and mixed by longtime Big Thief collaborator Dom Monks.

“Double Infinity,” reaches into the idea of inner and outer worlds, and the body as the bridge. It speaks to the purgatory created by the human brain, always looking to the past or future, between the things we’ve lost and the things we want, between desire and regret. “Beauty speak to me, let me know you, let me see myself inside your mystery, through the crystal cage of aging.” It calls for true beauty to speak, not fabricated, conditioned ideas of beauty. At the bridge between “what is forming” and “what is fading”, between “losing and of gaining”, “mourning and celebrating”, perhaps there is solace in “the eye behind the essence, still, unmovable”, that which is “unchanging”, outside of time. Is it love?

Following back-to-back Grammy-winning albums with her band Golden Highway, along with a Best New Artist nomination, Molly Tuttle releases her new solo album, So Long Little Miss Sunshine, on August 15, 2025 via Nonesuch Records. Recorded in Nashville with producer Jay Joyce (Orville Peck, Miranda Lambert, Lainey Wilson), the fifth full album from the singer, songwriter, and virtuoso guitarist marks a sonic departure from her recent work and features twelve new songs—eleven originals and one cover, of Icona Pop and Charli xcx’s “I Love It.” The album campaign kicks off with the first single, “That’s Gonna Leave a Mark,” which she co-wrote with Kevin Griffin (Better Than Ezra). On her new album—a hybrid of pop, country, rock, and flat-picking, plus one murder ballad—Tuttle goes to a whole new place. Her virtuoso guitar work takes center stage on this album more than ever, and for the first time, she introduces her banjo playing into two of her recordings.“I like to be a bit of a chameleon with my music. Keep people guessing and keep it full of surprises,” she says. So Long Little Miss Sunshine was recorded with drummer/percussionists Jay Bellerose and Fred Eltringham, bassist Byron House, and Joyce on multiple instruments. Ketch Secor (Old Crow Medicine Show) also plays banjo, fiddle, and harmonica, as well as singing harmony; much of the LP was co-written with Secor, who is also Tuttle’s partner. “We spend so much time together, we live together, and anytime I have a song idea, or he has one, it’s just so easy to transition from whatever we’re doing into writing a song.” Tuttle also conceived the artwork for So Long Little Miss Sunshine, which features multiple Mollys, each wearing a different wig except for one with nothing on her head at all. Tuttle has been bald since she was three years old due to the autoimmune condition alopecia areata; she acts as a spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation.

When KAYTRANADA left the 2021 Grammys with two awards (Best Dance/Electronic Album for 2019’s BUBBA and Best Dance Recording for “10%”) he made history as the first Black and first openly gay artist to win the former category. The industry recognition was long overdue for the producer who had been building a devout following for nearly a decade. “In my mind I was finally a true artist,” he tells Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. After relocating to Los Angeles, he channeled that confidence into making his third solo album, TIMELESS: “It felt more serious—more legit. I was still having fun making TIMELESS, but making BUBBA was another type of fun where I didn’t really take it seriously.” Like its predecessor, TIMELESS is a collection of club grooves for catching a vibe. It’s packed with guests who effortlessly acclimate to KAYTRANADA’s singular sound while imprinting their own touch. Ravyn Lenae offers breathy seductions on the hard-edged R&B of “Video,” and Thundercat delivers comical disses in soothing falsetto on the jazzy hip-hop of “Wasted Words.” Back-to-back tracks “Do 2 Me” (featuring Anderson .Paak and SiR) and “Witchy” (featuring Childish Gambino) hit an energy peak, their tales of late-night infatuation framed by sultry, body-enveloping production.

George Harrison - "Let It Roll: Songs by George Harrison". Over a period of decades, George Harrison earned a reputation as one of the most enigmatic and creative individuals born to rock and roll. As was the case for every former Beatle, George's disentanglement from the group identity was slowed by the world's abiding and sometimes-obsessive love for the Beatles as a singular entity. But, as the 1970 release of his epic All Things Must Pass revealed, here was a man with a story all his own. Songs like "My Sweet Lord" and "What Is Life" were tucked into a vast collection that remains one of the great works of the album era. Today George is remembered as one who followed his passions to remarkable conclusions, a man of paradox whose unusual balance of spiritual devotion, wry humor, and true compassion touched the lives of many. 2 LP set on 180g vinyl. Tailor made for anybody longing for the energetic angst of the 2000’s rock scene, but with more mature themes and lyrics. “Honestly the process of making this record has been a dream come true for us," says Austin Durry. "We’ve always recorded in basements, and home studios whenever we could find time and finances to make it happen. Nonesuch Records releases pianist and composer Brad Mehldau’s Ride into the Sun—a songbook record of music by the late singer, songwriter, and guitarist Elliott Smith. Featured musicians include singer/guitarist Daniel Rossen (Grizzly Bear); singer/mandolinist Chris Thile (Punch Brothers, Nickel Creek); bassists Felix Moseholm (Brad Mehldau Trio) and John Davis; drummer Matt Chamberlain (Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Randy Newman, etc.); and a chamber orchestra led by Dan Coleman. Ride into the Sun’s ten Elliott Smith songs are complemented by four Mehldau compositions that he says are “inspired by, and reflect, Smith’s oeuvre.” Also included are interpretations of Big Star’s “Thirteen,” which Smith also covered, and “Sunday” by Nick Drake, who Mehldau says, “I look at in some ways as sort of Smith’s visionary godfather.” Recalling how he first got to know Smith and his music, which has been a regular part of his repertoire for years, Mehldau said that after years living in New York, he moved to Los Angeles “and there was this wonderful scene of singer-songwriters that was congregating at a club called Largo. That included Elliott but it also included artists like Rufus Wainwright, Fiona Apple. And then other musicians who had been around for a while would come down every Friday night to sit in on a gig that was led by Jon Brion. I played behind Elliott on his own tunes with Jon. It felt to me like a kind of renaissance in songwriting that flourished for a number of years.”

On the heels of their eighth Opry performance and Ryman Auditorium debut earlier this year, Akron, Ohio’s “Rustbelt Americana” torchbearers, The Shootouts, release their new album Switchback, on Transoceanic Records. Switchback is The Shootouts’ fourth LP, and the follow up to their acclaimed 2023 release Stampede, a #1 at Alt-Country and #4 on the Americana radio charts.

Recorded in Nashville, TN, The Shootouts brought in Grammy-winner Dan Knobler, following his production of Allison Russell’s AMA Album of the Year, Outside Child, to produce, mix and co-engineer Switchback. Already garnering 5-star reviews and a Rolling Stone feature, Country Music People magazine called Knobler’s craft on Switchback, “astonishingly good production” on a “spectacular album.”

Bandmates Emily Bates, Brian Poston, and frontman Ryan Humbert, whose distinctive lead vocals continue to draw comparisons to Ed Robertson of Barenaked Ladies, are joined on the tracks by some of Americana and country music’s most noteworthy players. Switchback opens with the lush fan-favorite “Trampoline,” followed by the high-energy rocker “The Other Side of My Life.”  Lindsay Lou, Sam Bush, and Mickey Raphael lend their talents to a rootsy take on the ‘80’s post-punk classic “Only You,” originally by Yaz, the iconic UK duo of Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke. Two country legends accompany Humbert on vocals, starting with Rodney Crowell on the country folk infused “Half A World Away”; and Vince Gill picking up the pace on an electrifying rendition of “I’ll Be Damned,” a song he penned and recorded in 1980. “Only Good at Goodbye” features a guest vocal by singer/songwriter Logan Ledger, with the renowned Russ Pahl on pedal steel.

Switchback finds The Shootouts hitting their mark, elevating their palette of traditional country, contemporary roots, rockabilly, and Western swing, while maintaining their blue-collar, hard-working ethic. Free tote bag and autographed print with Indie Store Exclusive vinyl purchase, while supplies last.

Following the release of their triumphant breakthrough album ‘Cartwheel’ in 2023 on Third Man Records, which gained widespread critical acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork (8.4/10 Best New Music) and Stereogum (Top 10 Albums of 2023 - “riveting, restless shoegaze packed with massive hooks”), NYC’s Hotline TNT are back with their best album yet, ‘Raspberry Moon’. The first single “Julia’s War” has been road-tested across a recent sold out US tour, as well as at UK festivals including Green Man, and we can attest that it’s a ginormous singalong anthem and one which marks The Next Phase of New American Shoegaze (~ Third Man Records). Hotline TNT have toured relentlessly, including US-wide tours with Wednesday and Snail Mail, enduring seemingly endless lineup shifts to become a linchpin of several interconnecting DIY scenes. Whilst ‘Cartwheel’ was largely conceived by the band’s frontman Will Anderson (previously of cult indie group Weed), ‘Raspberry Moon’ is very much a full-band effort, which is evident in the album’s all-consuming, rip-roaring sound.

HAIM’s highly anticipated fourth studio album, I quit, will be releasing on June 20th. The 15-track album was written primarily by HAIM and Rostam Batmanglij, with production by Batmanglij and Danielle Haim. The album radiates the raw energy of seasoned performers whose deep reverence for classic rock shapes songs that are built for live performance. The album features follows previously released album tracks “Relationships” and “Everybody’s trying to figure me out,” which were both met with critical praise. Pitchfork noted “what’s that sound? Is it the first song of the summer?” while Vulture raved, “Haim is back… they’re not taking anything too seriously except for the quality of what they put out into the world,” and Stereogum hailed it as, “a return to the sleek genre-hybrid sounds of classic Haim.” I quit is the first new album since the band’s 2020 album Women In Music, Pt. III, which earned them a Brit Award for International Group. Women In Music, Pt. III received two GRAMMY Award nominations, including the prestigious “Album of the Year” recognition. With this nomination, HAIM became the first all-female rock group to be included in the GRAMMY’s top category. Women In Music, Pt. III debuted #1 on the U.S. Album Sales chart, as well as the Rock and Alternative charts and entered at #1 on the UK Album chart.

"moisturizer is the bold, second album from Wet Leg, the Isle of Wight five-piece founded by Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers. Joined by Ellis Durand, Henry Holmes, and Joshua Mobaraki, Wet Leg has spent the past few years on the road, evolving into a feral, electrifying live force. This new record captures that energy, delivering a sound that’s tighter, bolder, and more self-assured, yet still brimming with the same quick wit and raw, unrefined energy. Isolated in a remote house in the countryside, moisturizer was written in a creative frenzy, diving into themes of obsession and all-consuming love. While their 2022 debut earned Grammy wins and chart-topping success, moisturizer brings the bite: brash guitars, heavy beats, and a fearless devotion to feeling everything—all at once."

The Hives Forever, Forever The Hives is the band’s 7th studio LP, a razor-sharp culmination of their rupturing, signature “powder-keg” (NYT) rock n roll energy that initially captured the zeitgeist during the garage rock revival in the early 2000s. The Hives continue to reach sky-high on the new album, with the majority of it recorded in one take at Yung Lean/YEAR0001’s studio and riksmixningsverket – a studio owned by Benny Andersson of ABBA in Stockholm. The record was produced by their longtime collaborator Pelle Gunnerfeldt (Viagra Boys, Yung Lean, Elvira) as well as the band’s old tourmate Mike D of the Beastie Boys, who flew out to Sweden specifically to work on the album and hosted the band at his studio in Malibu. Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age consulted on the record, too.
